April hasn't really been much of a month for new discoveries as my boyfriend and I booked a 'last minute' (two months in advance) holiday and paid it all upfront, so I've been holding back on spending, which has kind of led me to go back to some products I forgot I had or haven't tried yet so that I still get that 'something new on my face' fix. Here's my favourites this month, and of course a mini review of each.

Bliss Triple Oxygen Energizing Vitamin C Day Cream

Bliss Triple Oxygen Day Cream Review
I've been using this moisturizer every morning alongside the Bliss Triple Oxygen Eye Gel for around 6 weeks now, and it's definitely become a staple in my skincare routine. It's light and not sticky, works really well as a base for make-up and primer, and all in all does the job of keeping my skin looking and feeling fresh and moisturized. There's not a huge amount to rave about, but it does what it says on the tin, and sometimes that's all you need!

Pixi Double Cleanse

Pixi Double Cleanse Review Caroline Hirons Pixi
Before I tried Pixi's Double Cleanse, I honestly thought it would just be one of those overly hyped up products that wasn't really as great as it's made out to be. I don't know why, because everything I have tried from Pixi's skincare line has seriously impressed me, but the thought of needing two cleansers just seemed to be something to satisfy that whole double cleanse trend. I was wrong. I've always loved a balm to oil cleanser, and this one is now at the top my favourites list. It cleanses your skin so well, removing every last ounce of make-up and leaving your skin feeling fresh and clean. The cream cleanser is the cherry on top. For me it just adds that luxury feel, really nourishing your skin and preparing it for the next steps in your evening routine.

FACE Stockholm Precision Eyeliner

FACE Stockholm Precision Eyeliner Review
FACE Stockholm Precision Eyeliner SwatchForever my go-to liquid liner, FACE Stockholm's Precision Eyeliner is easily my favourite. I've realised I really love liquid liners in pen form that come with a long, sturdy, felt-tip kind of applicator, but a I've tried a few that don't give the colour intensity I want. This bad boy does both. It is super long-wearing, applies really smoothly, and I find that the longer applicator and the pen shape allow you to have more control.

First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer

First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer Review

Technically this one is skincare, but I don't really use it like that so I'm gonna go with make-up anyway... I'll explain. I've tried this after moisturizer as a primer and not loved it, until I tried it mixed with my foundation for a more sheer, 'no make-up, make-up' kinda vibe. It really hydrates my skin, adds a hint of shimmer to my foundation for that dewy look, and keeps everything in place throughout the day without my face feeling cakey. You can find it here at HQhair.

KMS CurlUp Perfecting Lotion

KMS CurlUp Perfecting Lotion ReviewKMS CurlUp Perfecting Lotion Review
For those of you that don't know, my hair is naturally super curly. I've gone through stages of straightening the sh*t out of it, but recently I've been letting my natural flag fly and avoiding any heat styling. The only issue is that my hair is out of control when it's curly, and as soon as I've slept on it, no matter how much salt spray, mousse, you name it, I put in the day before, the next morning it's going up in a bun because there is just no hope... until recently.

I was kindly given KMS' CurlUp Perfecting Lotion to try, and my life (or maybe just hair) has changed. After washing and towel drying my hair, I give it a brush through and pop in 1 pump of the cream, mainly on the midlengths and ends of my hair, scrunch it up and let it dry naturally. It makes my curls so much more defined and shiny than any other products I've tried, and if I sleep on my hair, all I need to do is damp it down and scrunch away again to reactivate the product.

For any Sophia Amoruso fans out there (I hear ya!) April 21st was an exciting day. Not only was it Friday, it was also they day that GIRLBOSS aired on NETFLIX - hallelujah! I feel like I have been waiting for this for YEARS, and although I didn't binge watch it all on the Friday night as I had planned to do (I know, I'm wild), I did get through it all over the weekend.

My honest review? There's not that much to say. I really enjoyed watching it, seeing scenes I've read in the book be played out in front of my eyes, seeing 23 year old Sophia kicking ass and not giving two f*cks what anyone else thinks. But it kind of lacked substance for me... That's not to say I wouldn't binge watch it again, because I totally would, it just didn't quite live up to the expectations I had after reading the book. Yes, I feel motivated and love her character even more, but I wanted to see even more. Maybe the book is always better than the movie, as they say?
